Planted on Byrsa hill, just a stone's throw from the National Museum, its superb yellow Byzantine-Moorish silhouette overlooks the surrounding area. After years of disuse, the cathedral was restored to its former glory and reopened in 2024. It covers an area of 1,800m2. Built in 1884, it has been famous since 1993 as the Acropolium, a cultural venue for concerts, exhibitions and other events.
