The Basilica of Tabarka is an ancient Roman cistern of the third century AD, which was transformed into a place of worship by the White Fathers. They installed windows and gave the square pillars a hexagonal shape. Until recently, this building with a unique destiny was the preferred place to host cultural events in the city, including the city's jazz festival. But the basilica is under restoration and its reopening is not yet certain at the time of writing.
