Built in the first half of the 17th century by Moorish emigrants to Tunisia. Its walls are made of stone from Tichilla, an ancient site on whose ruins the city was built. Like the mosque in Cordoba, its roofs are made of glazed, coloured tiles. The prayer hall has nine naves, the middle of which is topped by two domes, one in front of the mihrab and the other in the middle. On the courtyard side was a wall clock.
