Passing approximately every half hour, the nicely named Sahel Metro makes the connection between Sousse-Monastir-Mahdia. Itinerary: Monastir-Sousse-Bab Jedid; Monastir-Gare H. Bourguiba; Monastir-Habib Bourguiba International Airport; Monastir-Sahline-Sidi Abdelhamid and Monastir-Mahdia. The metro also stops at the Hotels station which is on the tourist route. This can be a good alternative if you do not have a private vehicle or a personal driver for your discovery of the city of Monastir and its surroundings.
