The former premises of the town hall were transformed into a regional museum in 1997, while keeping the same original façade dating from 1913. The architecture has been particularly worked on: the emphasis has been put on the exploitation of natural light thanks to a bay window on the first floor and large windows on the first floor. There are Punic, Roman, Islamic, Lybian-Punic, Roman-African antiquity sections, mosaics from the site of El Jem, coins from the Fatimid period and two Byzantine treasures.
