On the edge of the medina, Kairouan's only luxury hotel is housed in a former Ottoman barracks. An architectural success for this 5-star hotel, which has retained all the authenticity of the site. Arranged around a large, magnificent swimming pool, the rooms are superb: walls adorned with earthenware tiles and wood panelling, loggias adorned with moucharabiehs. The Moorish café is housed in the oldest parts of the barracks, magnificently restored. Good buffet breakfast. A warm, professional welcome.

Beautiful architecture. But the staff is not very friendly. The cleaning is far from corresponding has what you would expect from a 5 star!
Hotel class, with a common architecture; very well located, the great mosque is two steps including the medina. Large swimming pool with a fountain, what to relax...
