Sbeïtla has several churches that bear witness to the Christian influence in ancient Tunisia. In the north of the forum, the church of Bellator, a relatively modest size with its two apses, consists of a baptistery transformed into a chapel and built in tribute to Bishop Jucundus, who was martyred by the Vandals at the beginning of the Fifth century.
