GRAND MOSQUE OF SFAX
Built in 849 by a pupil of the jurist Sahnoun, the cadi Ali Ben Salem Jebenyani, it was enlarged several times, most recently by the Turks in 1758. The prayer hall is square. The courtyard is framed by 4 galleries. The minaret and the large doorway leading to the prayer hall are reminiscent of those of the Kairouan mosque. It was on the cool mats of the prayer hall that the great decisions that marked the city's history were taken. With independence, renovation work restored the building's style and simplicity.

c'est une mosquée sobre a l'extérieure mais qui présente beaucoup d’intérêt architectural a l’intérieur a visiter absolument si vous passer par sfax.
