DAR LONGO
This attractive museum is housed in a residence dating from 1818, known as the Maison du Caïd. It was named after the Longo family, the last owners of the property. The building, which has been a museum since 1992, is also the headquarters of the Association de Sauvegarde de la Médina de Gafsa. Not to be missed: the traditional weaving room and the Gafsa "klim". Their distinctive feature is that they are woven on both sides, by hand, with ancient Berber motifs. Women once used these weavings to convey messages. A must-see!
