The International festival of Oasis oases is considered to be the largest cultural and tourist event in the South. His birth dates back to 1938 under the name: " Pass Palms festival ". Interrupted during the Second World War, he revived at the dawn of Tunisian independence. It was in 1991 that it will become an international festival. In the programme, street entertainment, parades, shows depicting the way of life and traditions of the inhabitants of the Djérid, theatrical performances, painting workshops, parades of folklore and liturgical troupes, film and slide projections, horse racing and demonstrations of dates in the palm grove.
