ÉGLISE SAINTE-RADEGONDE
This charming Romanesque church is listed as a Monument Historique.
The construction of this charming Romanesque church began in the 11th century and continued until the 15th century. It is named after Saint Radegonde, who was abducted by the Merovingian king Clotaire I and forced to marry him. After fleeing her husband, the queen founded the Abbey of Sainte-Croix in Poitiers. Sainte-Radegonde was invoked against wolves, which were present at that time. The church of Saurier depended on the abbey of Issoire. Under the bell tower, you will see traces of ancient tombs. The building is protected as a Historic Monument.
