This superb ksar is the first mountain ksar south of Tataouine, with its 270 perfectly preserved ghorfas and magnificent views. It consists of two ksour: an ancient square-shaped one (50 m in diameter) and a more recent rectangular one (Ksar Jedid) (70 m by 90 m). A covered entrance(skifa) links the 2 parts. This ksar has been restored. Some ghorfas from the more recent part are still in use. It's a perfect illustration of the mountain ksour, the successor to the citadel ksour, with its agricultural function.
