Friendly hostel in downtown Heraklion, convenient for tight budgets.
Significant advantages: the location in the city centre and a pleasant welcome. Another positive point is that the hostel is one of the few places where you are almost certain to find a small place without having made a reservation. The whole thing is a bit old-fashioned and lacks a bit of maintenance. Real negative point in summer: there is no air-conditioning and it is scorchingly hot in the dormitories. It's a pity, because the premises could be pleasant if they were better exploited. Separate male and female dormitories. Always good to keep in mind for tight budgets.

Rooms are small, beds are shaky (although the mattress seems fine) and there is no AC or fans in the rooms.
Worst of all they take your passport as a key deposit. Which is illegal.
There is another hostel right nearby that offers everything at a much better quality for 1 euro more per night.
Go there. Don't support this illegal passport deposit thing.
