Cave in Gouves, one of the most important caves in the Heraklion area.
This cave was a place of worship in antiquity and during the early Christian era. It is by its size one of the largest in the Heraklion region, and even on the island: more than 450 m long! This cave has several rooms, the largest of which is 130 m long and 30 m high. The stalactites formed during the ages evoke animal or human forms that we will not fail to show you during the visit. It is advisable to visit the cave with a flashlight.
