Opened in 1971 by grandfather Andréas, taken over by son Dimitris and today by grandson Andréas, this is a very reliable family business. With around 140 vehicles in season, you have a choice of recent models of all makes. The agency gives good advice on itineraries. Pick-up and delivery to hotels is free, and to airports for a fee. Island-wide assistance is available 24/7.

Count around 50 € per day of rent for a car of class A, taxes, insurance and unlimited mileage included. Decreasing prices after 3 days of rental. Accessible to wheelchairs and people with reduced mobility.Over 21 years of age, no deductible and no deposit on vehicle recovery.

BYRON is mainly a car rental company since 1971 based at the entrance of the town of Aghios Nikolaos on the right before arriving at the bridge. BYRON TRAVEL is a small family business that also offers services like:

32 models at your disposal rented at competitive prices. The vehicles are constantly replaced by new models and regularly maintained in the best conditions. Rentals include : - Third party insurance. - 24 hour roadside assistance - Theft and fire protection - Unlimited mileage - Local taxes DELIVERY/Collection: free of charge at Heraklion airport and surrounding areas, with an extra charge of 60 € for delivery or collection in Chania, Ierapetra, Sitia and South Crete. If the delivery or collection is outside the agency's hours (21:00-07:30), a surcharge of 30 € may be required. Low season: from 16th September to 15th July High season: from 16th July to 15th September

The price was decent and included full insurance and unlimited mileage.
We went for a fiat 500 automatic cabriolet which many places don’t have.
To top it all they take credit card payment and Theodore from the company arrived at our hotel with a card machine.
Not many car hire places here seem to take cards or will only have discounts for cash payments.
Overall would recommend.
