Beach surrounded by cafes and restaurants in the center of the town of Agios Nikolaos.
Long before the harbour was built in Agios Nikolaos, boats used to dock at this beach and some of them would leave loaded with citrus fruits(kitro in Greek). Thus the beach owes the first component of its name to this citrus fruit and the second to the nearbyplateia. This beach is located in the centre of the town and can be reached on foot by taking the M. Sfakianaki road which starts after the small bridge of the town. It is now very clean and well laid out, surrounded by many terraces of cafes and restaurants, with hotels nearby.
