Hotel by the sea with a panoramic view and offering double rooms and suites.
The Elounda Garden Suites Hotel is located on the seafront, 100 metres from the city centre, in a quiet location. Some rooms offer panoramic views of the crystal clear waters of the Aegean Sea and the island of Spinalonga, while others open onto a furnished terrace with mountain views. The hotel offers double rooms as well as luxury suites for couples and families. The staff is friendly, helpful and efficient. Clean, spacious, quiet... Unbeatable value for money!

Had a suite within the small complex. Good shower, comfortable bed. Small kitchette area. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Pool and bar area clean.

It was a huge pleasure to stay at this hotel. From the check-in at reception to the time of our departure, we had a great sense of well-being. That is down to the relaxed and efficient way that Elounda Garden Suites is run. The staff are kind and friendly and it was clear that they enjoy working there.
A good 'continental' breakfast, on a terrace overlooking the pool, was supplemented by a few dishes cooked to order - e.g. excellent bacon and eggs and omelettes.
Our room was not huge, but it had plenty of storage, air-conditioning, tea- and coffee-making facilities (inc. Nespresso), a very comfortable bed, a large modern TV, good wi-fi, a well-appointed bathroom and an attractive. secluded terrace with comfortable outdoor furniture. We felt very happy and relaxed there.
We enjoyed the heated salt-water pool - a comfortable temperature in October.
One of the advantages of Elounda Garden Suites is its location. The centre of Elounda - harbour, shops, bars and restaurants - is a short easy walk away. We arrived in a hired car. There are a few parking spaces outside the hotel and free public car park nearby.
It was truly delightful and we hope to go back.

Perfect location 5mins into bustling town/beaches/port, but its a lovely peaceful hotel. You don't need a car if you are happy to stay local, plenty to do, great walks - peninsula or to Plaka, boat trips, lots of wonderful restaurants & bars all close by. Staff are absolutely wonderful - really helpful, happy to give advice, but not pushy or over friendly. Many guests seems to book year on year & know the staff - really nice to see the relationships & great service.
Pool/outside area - really lovely, well maintained, nice flowers/garden area. Salt water pool & lots of comfy sun-loungers (wooden - quite heavy to move) - if they were full, there were also some bean bag chairs/loungers & lots of extra loungers (lightweight) that you could use around the pool. The pool area was busy on some days, but not crowded. There were a few children around despite being out of season (not many - in fact I think it would benefit from being over 12's hotel) - they did chuck a ball around a bit!
Bar/food - we didnt eat breakfast or snacks - but it did look good & was busy. We did have drinks during the day - good price & served to your sun lounger.
Room/suite - we had room 108, at the end of the hotel grounds - but only a mintues walk to pool/bar/reception. One room above - minimum noise heard. Very quiet room as nobody walked past us to get to their rooms! There was no pool view or garden view - just hedges/plants in a border. Patio area with table & chairs, wall (waist height) between our patio and next doors - but no privacy (would benefit from a screen or plants/climbers in between rooms - not solid though as that would be too dark).
Room/suite 108 was darker & a bit smaller then the photos show to be honest, so initially was a little disappointed, the sun does come in but patio doors to lounge and bedroom are very narrow. Despite this the apartment/suite was still good. Our bedroom wasn't small, but fitted a large double bed, big wardrobe and bedside cupboards. Bed and linen were very comfy. Pillows could be a little softer for us (but everybody is different). There was enough storage and excellent wooden hangers (huge plus point - well done). We had two french window style doors in the bedroom. The dressing table/shelf area didn't match the room - - its a random brown & old fashioned. Also a stool rather than a chair should be provided as the chair doesn't fit by the bed (too narrow area). Hairdryer provided & its a real one - which is much appreciated!
Kitchenette - v small area/cupboard but has everything you need - all very clean and smart. Not sure I would want to try and cook a big meal but for salad/bread/pitta etc - all fine. Refrigerator is in the lounge area in a large side board with room to store plenty of food and drink. Lounge area - has 2 beds in - set up as sofas. I think it would be a squeeze to have 2 kids or 2 more adults in the room. There is a coffee table - as no room for a dining table and chairs, they are outside on the patio. TV is ok - we had very windy/stormy weather whilst there - so occasionally the reception wasn't great.
Bathroom - excellent - shower had both monsoon & normal shower head, pressure was super, good hot water too. Very clean, shampoo and shower gel provided if you need it. It was a little scruffy around tiles and paintwork (painted over some tiles - finishing is not great!) but other than that all good.
Air con - in both rooms and very efficient.
We did do a little hand washing whilst there - and although pegs were provided - there was not hanging rail - we asked - but they said there wasn't one. We had to hang over chairs or on shutters!
Got a lovely welcome gift of wine, water and fruit and a lovely leaving gift too.
Would definitely recommend this hotel (I did go and nose around some of the others on my list - and this one had the nicest character and staff). It has a lovely relaxing vibe to it and we really enjoyed our time there. I would definitely stay there again if we return to Elounda - but would ask for a 1st floor room and maybe one overlooking the pool area.
