One of the taverns that border the sea, offering full view of the fortified islet of Spinalonga. It is very famous for its fresh fish and shellfish: pasta with shrimp and seafood, octopus or grilled shrimp are on the menu, among others. You can also taste good dishes of the Cretan cuisine. The atmosphere is family and quite friendly. If you opt for fresh fish, check the menu and ask for the price per kilo. It also offers rooms and apartments for rent at a very reasonable price (from 30 €).

Expect to pay around €20 per person for an excellent meal without wine. Open all year round, 9am to 11pm. Free parking opposite. Traditional boat departures to Spinalonga Island.

The Taverna Spinalonga, which has played host to numerous personalities from the world of politics and the arts, including the late Andreas Papandreou, is a favorite haunt of locals and tourists alike. We had the linguine (mussels) and moussaka.
The linguine was amazing - the moussaka was ok ..
What was amazing was the service and the atmosphere!!
There was an accordion player getting people singing and dancing - it didn’t matter what nationality you were ! This created a very entertaining and fun environment ..
Especially when the older Greek women got up and danced and sang - just what we needed as we were on our last day in Crete
