This plateau, which culminates at an altitude of 1,150 m, is uninhabited and you can enjoy a superb view of the sea and the bay of Agios Nikolaos. The three taverns on the plateau open during the transhumance period, when the shepherds go up their herds for the summer (from May to October). The best time to come is undoubtedly the first weekend after August 15 because a large peasant festival dedicated to the shepherds is celebrated there. The rest of the time, this escapade in the mountains will bring you its dose of freshness and peace.
