Medieval castle of the 15th century retracing the history of the Clermont-Ferrand composer Georges Onslow through his life and his work.

This ^14th-century château offers a fascinating journey through history. Restored in the romantic style of the ^19th century, it will lead you in the footsteps of Auvergne composer George Onslow. His life and work are recounted through musical excerpts. Part of his musical library is preserved at the château. This is not the only credo of this Livradois-Forez monument. Captivating guided tours will take you through the various salons and numerous rooms, to discover the collections of furniture and objets d'art.

Low season: open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 12:30pm and 2pm to 5:30pm. High season: Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 12:30pm and 2pm to 6:30pm. Free admission for children under 18. Adults: €7. Group (20 people): €5.50. Guided tour. Store. Animations.

Un très joli château, l’un des mieux meublés de France. Beaucoup de tableaux qui y sont exposés sont des originaux que l’on voit dans tous les livres d’histoire (portrait de Marie Antoinette, de Richelieu, de Louis XIV...)

Seul bémol : le château est mal indiqué, il faut ouvrir l’oril Pour voir le panneau

Mal indiqué depuis la route, ce chateau vaut le détour, notamment grace à son ameublement riche et varié (restauré régulièrement par des élèves ébénistes).

An excellent surprise that this castle, slightly hidden, but which contains furniture treasures! The guide quality presented to us the history of this castle and its little stories and we really enjoyed its specific details.
