Very good food and great service

The food is not even of average taste. Unfortunately, I had diarrhea after eating here. Besides all this, the main courses are even more expensive than the prices of the most luxurious restaurants in Athens. Unfortunately, this was the place where I received the worst service during my stay in Chania

The worst food I have ever eaten on this island. It’s a shame the reviews are so high - it is really bad.

Indulging in a culinary journey at Tamam in the heart of old town Chania was nothing short of delightful. Our starter, the fried Talagani cheese with a hazelnut crust, was a great combination of flavors - each bite a perfect balance of crispiness and creaminess. The grilled sea bass, adorned with a Mediterranean sauce infused with subtle hints of carrots, turmeric, celery, and dill, elevated the dining experience to new heights. The Boureki, a traditional Cretan pie bursting with the goodness of zucchini, potatoes, and goat cheese, offered a comforting taste of local cuisine. Sitting outside, surrounded by the charming ambiance of old town Chania, only added to the magic of the moment. Truly an unforgettable culinary adventure.

As the perfect finale to our lunch at Tamam, we were treated to a complimentary dessert accompanied by a generous serving of raki. This gesture added an extra layer of warmth to our dining experience, leaving us feeling truly appreciated as guests. The dessert, a sweet indulgence crafted with care, was the cherry on top of an already exquisite meal. Paired with the traditional Cretan spirit of raki, it was a fitting end to a memorable journey through flavors and hospitality at Tamam in old town Chania.

Me and my partner are both vegan so we did struggle finding things we could eat. The Iranian rice and blended fava is INCREDIBLE and a must get!!! The stuffed pepper, tomato and vine leaves are amazingly done! That was all we could really eat so if you are vegan ensure you check out other places in Chania. Still so good we came back twice!!!

Best meal(s) we've had in Chania. Don't forget to have the cheesecake!

The restaurant serves in an old bathhouse decorated as a restaurant. We went with high expectations for appetizers and food. I think the kebab was a bit strange because of the crumbled peksimet bread in the meat as it was far from the Turkish standards we are used to, but the quality of the meat was very good. Imam bayıldı was very good, but in my opinion it was salty due to the exaggerated amount of feta cheese in it. Too much zucchini in the appetizers was a bit disturbing even though I am a zucchini lover. Since the raki was local, it had a nice flavor beyond the classic ouzo, and the pitas were blended with very good olive oil. Prices were reasonable.

We enjoyed the zucchini balls and grape leaves “dolmades” for appetizers. While we weren’t a fan of first salad on the list with the avocado, the lamb kebabs were fantastic.

Niesamowity klimat, niesamowite jedzenie, miejsce z historią i z duszą. MUSAKA, BOURAKI skradły moje serce. Na zdjęciu też Iranian rise i zupa warzywna. Na koniec oczywiście Rakija i Ravani. Wow

A lovely little restaurant in the winding streets of Chania Old Town. Lots of choices of food and various veggie options. Gets busy in summer, so book ahead.

restaurant Tamam Hania
