This family-run tavern, located on the waterfront, offers many seafood specialties. Housed since 1992 in an old stone house, it offers fish caught on the same day in the bay of Kissamos and in the Libyan sea by fishermen who are friends of the family. The ingredients are fresh as well, as the meat comes directly from the shepherds and farmers living above the bay. The service is friendly and the terrace is pleasant. Ask for the menu for the price per kilo of fresh fish.

En perte de vitesse

Taverne généreuse et goûteuse il y a 20 ans, le Cellar n a pas resiste aux exigences de la rentabilite immediate. Les dolmadakias sont trop cuites et insipides ( du riz enveloppe dans une feuille de vigne), la viande est grasse et filandreuse, les accompagnements sont de pauvres legumes desseches (chou carottes)...La mer est toujours là et le service est toujours tres lent, mais les plats sont bien decevants....le service aussi...

I was pleased to lunch family on August 27th, 2010. The restaurant is very well located directly on the seafront kastelli kissamos beach.You can have lunch at the choice in the sun or on the terrace in the shade.The menu is varied with Cretan specialities (dishes on the pan, stifado gratin, stews, a selection of grilled fish, fried, poached.grilled meats).We took starter courgette doughnuts and eggplant and moussaka, we enjoy ourselves and believe me the large appetites will not be disappointed.The welcome is very pleasant, the owner also speaks well French, it remains in Paris.the service is efficient and during the bill, we even had the pleasant surprise to have raki.In short, if you want to have a good time, remember this place!
