Tasty food, homemade bagel sandwiches and a fine selection of wines in a café-restaurant-theatre in Budapest.
The Spinoza café-restaurant and theatre is a bit like the essence of Hungarian Jewish tradition in Budapest, with an extra Dutch touch (for the original port of Spinoza!). The café, located in a century-old building, is a centre of local contemporary intellectual and cultural life. The food is simple, tasty and well served. The day starts with a good breakfast, continues at noon with a Matzo soup or goose legs. Vegetarian menus available as well as homemade bagel sandwiches. Good selection of wines.

Meat was cooked to medium, I could taste the paprika and local spices. I have to say I liked it, I also saw the table next to me ordered an Apple strudel dessert, I asked her if it’s good, she smiled big me gave me a thumbs up. So I went for it, I thanked her. It was warm toasty, perfect amount of cinnamon and sugar.
All together the over all experience was great. I enjoy the classic and family style vibe here.
Good food, service and ambient.
The piano is making it a very unique place, bringing your mind back in an an old asburgean era.
