Several small canteens in the centre concocting vegetarian and vegan Indian dishes: tasty and ultra affordable.

Do you want to eat healthily without meat, without compromising on taste? Go to Govinda! Right in the centre, this canteen, which is part of a chain (several addresses in town), nestled in a cellar, is run by a local section of the Hare Krishna movement. They serve you in a sari, usually with a smile, Indian food, sometimes "hungarized", at friendly prices: lassis, soups, dhal (lentil curry), subji (rice dish), pakora (vegetable fritters), chutney (spicy sauce to accompany)... Ideal (also) for vegans.

Always a blessing!

Their food is tasty and authentic. Quantity and Quality wise optimal. We had the "Govinda the menu for two people " and could get the flavor of an Indian temple Prasadam.
They seem to pick vegetables according to the current season, as we had a lot of pumpkin dishes since we visited during Halloween ???? time.

The only downside is that they don't accept card payments. Only Forints and Euro accepted as means of payment.

Good food, pleasant atmosphere and great behaviour by the staff in charge. Recommended!

The food and prices aren't the same like 8 years ago, but the kindness of the people who run the place is still the same. I miss the authentic Indian food (like daal) and the variety of stew like before.
