Found the staff really helpful. Room was large. Had its own little kitchen too. Older hotel but good value. Lift to all floors. Bus stops outside. Pub/restaurant just down the road and its own restaurant too. Good breakfast. Very happy customer.
We were on a weekend trip in Budapest and we were staying in this hotel. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The locality is really great, you can be in city centre in ten minutes by bus.
The staff is so kind, they were really helpful and nice to us everyday we’ve met them. Cleaning ladies as well, they were nice and they always smiled at us.
The room was big, comfy and clean, they even gave us standard room even though we booked economy room, because it was currently free.
We were really happy here and we hope we’ll return! Thank you Hotel Charles!
Very decent hotel! The staff was smiling and very kind and helpful... We stayed 15 days and every morning they greeted us with a good morning at the reception... they even learned Greek to serve us...!!!
It is quiet and the bus stops are right outside the entrance and you are in the center in 5'-10' at the most..!!!
On the day of departure for the airport, the staff prepared a full packed breakfast for us as we were leaving early!!! They moved us!!!
We highly recommend it and will choose it again in the future!!!

I was staying in the hotel for 2 months with a rental contract.
1. The hotel staff entered my room without my permission while I was away, to check the condition of the room and potentially make some repairs(repairs that I never asked for). All my valuable items were unattended. This is the violation of the rental contract, and I could have filed a police report against the staff and the hotel. If you are a hotel guest be prepared that the hotel staff might just enter your room as they please, even if you explicitely tell them not to. I received no apology from the management.
2. There was a frequent cigarette smell coming from the bathroom. After I complained the management promised to investigate, but they didn't find the source.
3. I was charged 100 USD, as I leaned my bag against the wall, and mold (as far as I can tell) grow between my bag and the wall. There were several similar stains already in the apartment on the wall. I suppose it is because of the poor ventillation in the bathroom that makes the room too humid.
4. I was charged 30 USD cleaning fee, even though I believe I left the room in the same condition as it was when I arrived. I did clean the room a couple of days ago.
5. I got woken up several times by the cleaning staff louder chatter on the corridor, I don't understand why they cannot keep their voice down.
6. They threatend their own ex-employee with legal actions when he left a negative review on google maps.(screenshot attached)
The the second to last picture is the stain caused by my bag(some mold like thing that grew between my bag and the wall), the other ones were already in the room.
Update: the manager's reply below contains a lot of inaccurate details(someone would call them blatant lies):
1. I told the staff I want to extend the contract much earlier then 1 day before expiration, I was 2 weeks before expiration, and I have the email proof of that. I also left 3 days earlier plenty of time to recoup your losses. I see you are still advertising the hotel rooms for short term rental at alberlet.hu(2 weeks after I left). Please stop lying and base your business on honesty.
2. You never denied that it was mold behind the wallpaper, how can I be responsible for mold growing in 3 different places in the house? In fact one of the picture shows a piece of the wall without the wallpaper with something black growing.
3. I already showed the stain to one of the staff (and sent pictures of it to the hotel), and the staff had no right to enter my room without my permission later(I was never asked to show it). This is against the rental contract, and against the Hungarian law.
4. I was never shown the pictures of you took before I moved in, and I never signed them.
5. Regarding the noise, I did make a complaint about your policy of letting dogs in, as I found my neighbours dog noisry(he stayed less than 1 week) I didn't not make a complaint about the employees being noisy. Your job is to train the hotel staff to try to clean the rooms without loud chatter and your job is not to vex your guests.
Am beiindruckendsten war die Freundlichkeit und mehrsprachigkeit des Personals. Auch der 24/24h Service der Reception ist absolut genial. Vielen Dank für die tollen paar Tage in diesem Hotel

Spontaneous cancellations accure when booked via AirBnb. Paid half a year in advance and had to literally ABORT our long planned trip because we didn't find any new stay. Everything was occupied due to new years eve.
Hemos viajado en grupo 21 personas. El trato ha sido excelente , a pesar de ser un Hotel no muy moderno, hemos estado súper a gusto en el, en recepción nos han tratado mejor imposible se han preocupado por conseguirnos medios de transporte por conseguirnos el cambio de moneda con mejores condiciones que en un banco, Las habitaciones son súper amplias y muy confortables, sin duda alguna repetiríamos si tuviéramos que volver a Budapest
Desde el primer momento que llamamos por teléfono, la atención fue fantástica, por temas de trabajo el resto fue por mail, igual de bien. Fue una reserva para 21 personas para el campeonato europeo de karate, las habitaciones correctas, amplias, limpias, la pequeña cocina nos dio mucho juego, ya que debido a la competición teníamos horarios un tanto extraños, todo muy muy bien, pero lo mejor de todo, el personal, desde recepción que nos asistió fantásticamente y pacientemente, pasando por el personal del restaurante, tanto en el turno de desayunos como cena, todo en general muy bien. Si vuelve a celebrarse el campeonato o prueba puntuable, ya sabemos donde volveremos, muchas gracias por todo.

Nehezen megközelíthető , számomra ismeretlen okból a térkép mindig a főbejárat elé visz , a parkoló hátul van , kicsit nehezen találtuk meg , de miután megkaptuk sikerült megoldani ezt a problémát is . A reggeli finom , friss , jóízű és bőséges . A mini bár gazdagon felszerelt . Jól éreztük magunkat .
Desi mobilierul este invechit, nu s-a renovat recent nimic la interior, ambientul este foarte placut, familial. Camere spatioase, dotate cu chicineta . Camere mobilate cu tot ce trebuie. Receptie deschisa non stop. Parcare platita .
Great hotel with garage, if you come by car. Breakfast abundant and varied. Spacious and very clean rooms (we stayed in a renovated room). The reception staff very helpful.
Walking distance to the center and tourist attractions.
One of the best hotels in Budapest.
Vi hade nog otur denna gång hoppas jag. Har bott här flera gånger innan och varit nöjd . Det tog lång tid att checka in, restaurangen på hotellet var stängd på kvällen vi kom sånt kan ju hända så lite otur där. Frukosten var inte vad den varit, maten var kall.
Det har nog varit tufft för många under pandemin.
Bus stops at the hotel . Easy access to lidl Aldi for shopping . Breakfast great . Customer service at the reception is superb . Friendly and helpful . Waiters and room cleaners are polite and friendly . It is equal to a 5 star hotel .
