This hotel was great. Loved the quirky room, the restaurant, and the location is really what did it for me. My only minor complaint is a fire alarm in the middle of the night in the restaurant going off for a while but beyond that, I'll be staying here again.
First of all, in the "suites", the steel stairs are very loud both inside and outside the room. So when your neighbor tumbles down the stairs at 4am to go to the bathroom, you definitely hear them.
Then it should be noted that the fridge only works when a keycard is inserted... Which is not how fridges work! The beverages are always lukewarm. Who thought of this? This is such a terrible idea.
Then there is the general maintenance, from questionable stains on the insanely uncomfortable sofa, to several slightly broken or severely worn out fixtures in the bathroom.
So yeah, this hotel does look pretty good on pictures but functionally it really isn't that great.
The hostess was polite and apologised. She showed us to the room, upon entering the room the first thing that meet us was the smell of rotten sewage. The hostess didn’t seem to notice. So the drain in the bathroom must have been clogged because it really stank. To get some fresh air in we opened the window, only to discover that the planters outside our window had been used as an ashtray from previous guests. So instead of fresh air, there’s a distinct smell of old cigarets.
After dinner we decided that we would address the problems with the hostess. She was again polite but that didn’t really helped us. She said that all superior room were booked and the best she could do was an air freshener. She came back with a tiny sent diffuser and we were left with sleeping in a disgusting smell.
I would have hoped that she could a least upgrade us to another room that night, if any in our price range wasn’t available. But unfortunately she did not. She told us to wait for cleaning the next day. We were left with a feeling of ‘deal with it yourself’.
Next morning we decided to check out, even though we were supposed to stay there two more nights.
The morning receptionist was informed about the smell but didn’t accommodate any kind of compensation for our situation. And couldn’t tell us if
we were able to at least get our money back for the additional two nights we where supposed to stay there.
We were proposed a free cab, which we declined since we didn’t know where to go yet. A poor redemption for paying to stay in the smell of sewage all night.
We were perhaps unlucky, and i hope that this doesn’t happen regularly. But the general look and feel of the room wasn’t good either. Bathroom door was water damaged from open shower. Which also showed on the carpet in the room. The doorframe likewise.
Lights in the room were blinding you, not really comfortable at all. The fixed furniture was scratched and worn.
This could have been overlooked but in the light of an unhygienic and unmaintained room, it just made it all worse.
Το κρεββατι σκληρο με πολυ αβολα μαξιλαρια!
Υπερτιμημενο γενικα ακριβο για αυτα που προσφερει
localização otima
amamos budapeste e ainda mais o hotel
First thank you to everyone of the young crew that makes the stay even greater with their friendliness and natural openness!
Second, if you have the chance to book the Presidential suite, then do it! It's worth every cent and I would always do it again. The only problem, you just don't want to leave the room anymore!
Location is perfect. Everything is super close and located in a stunning and beautiful hall with great food (breakfast)!
Looking forward to our next stay :)
