National holiday commemorating the revolution of 15 March 1848 against Habsburg rule. Free parades and museums.
Public holiday commemorating the Hungarian revolution of 15 March 1848 against the Habsburg power, crushed by Vienna. The highlight of the celebrations took place on the steps of the National Museum, where the revolutionaries had then formulated twelve demands (freedom of the press, release of political prisoners...). Gives rise to political speeches and demonstrations where the crowd wears the rosette. Enjoy the free national museums (long line in front of Parliament).
