What will we see?
On this bike tour of Budapest, we'll show you all the important sights of Pest on an easy ride. From the riverbank, we'll make sure you also get a glimpse of beautiful Buda. Rather than clobber you with dates, we'd rather share basic information, fun facts and insider anecdotes. We'll pass two UNESCO World Heritage Sites and see much more along the way. At Budabike, safety comes first, which is why we ride as much as possible on cycle paths and avoid roads with heavy traffic. Discover Budapest up close and personal - by bike! And we'll take a break to warm up!
Tour highlights
Szabadsag Tér (Freedom Square): Revolutions, riots, a Soviet memorial, Ronald Reagan's statue and the irony of fate.
The Hungarian Parliament and Buda: We'll find out why the world's third-largest parliament is in Hungary, discover Kossuth Square and get closer to the Danube. Enjoy a breathtaking view of Buda.
Nagymezö Utca (Budapest's Broadway): We'll take a look at the operetta theater, the Laptop statue, the Walk of Fame and the House of Photography, and talk about culture (clubs).
Andrassy Street: On Budapest's boulevard, we'll see the "Iron Curtain", the House of Terror (harmless by day...), a piece of the Berlin Wall, the Opera House, Liszt Ferenc Square and, for women ONLY, we'll stop in front of the Gucci or Luis Vuitton stores for a second .
Hôsök Tere: (Heroes' Square): an impressive historic square where the great Communist parades and rallies once took place. We'll hear about the legend of the Archangel Gabriel, see the most important figures in Hungarian history, visit two art museums and much more.
Városliget (City Park): We' ll stop off at Vajdahunyad Castle, Dracula, Anonymus, the Liberty Tree, George Washington, Budapest's largest thermal bath (Széchenyi) and the zoo.
Jewish Quarter and Basilica: We'll discover the 7th district with Europe's largest synagogue, the Tree of Life, Pest's most popular street, ruined pubs and gastro bars. Stories about the city's heaviest bell, a mummified hand, the number 96 and more.
