PAULIST MONASTERY (SZIKLATEMPLOM)
Go there and contact
Paulist monastery with chapel in the pseudo-historic caves of Mount Gellért. Its terrace overlooks the Danube.
Practically opposite the Hotel Gellért, these pseudo-historic caves were dug into the rock of Mount Gellért in 1932 with the chapel to pay homage to the Virgin of Lourdes. The Paulist order, the only order of Hungarian origin, banned under communism, was able to return to its domain in 1990. Monks still live there (in a building clinging to the rock) and have opened the chapel to visitors. Beautiful view of the Danube from the terrace.
