ORTHODOX SYNAGOGUE (KAZINCZY UTCAI ZSINAGÓGA)
A superb Orthodox synagogue, a fine example of Art Nouveau, the liveliest synagogue in Budapest's Jewish quarter.
The small Orthodox synagogue (designed by Sándor and Béla Löffler) is almost one hundred and ten years old. Its red brick façade, a fine example of Art Nouveau, is crowned with Hebrew characters. The interior has been beautifully restored, using the original paintings, superbly naive and in a magnificent blue. The janitor's building also belongs to the community, as evidenced by the Stars of David inlaid in the walls. It's the liveliest synagogue in the Jewish Quarter!
