A splendid complex designed by Miklós Ybl, a group of palaces linked to Budapest Castle by beautiful gardens and an Escalator.

Splendid complex built to the plans of Miklós Ybl (the architect of St. Stephen's Basilica) between 1875 and 1883, renovated in 2014. This complex of palaces (Déli palota, the South Palace, and Északi palota, the North Palace) is directly connected to Budapest Castle by beautiful gardens and an escalator. The whole, decorated with fountains and other mosaics, offers a beautiful view. The permanent exhibition on the First World War is complemented by temporary exhibitions. Numerous concerts and cultural activities.
