Remarkable station, a historic monument to visit in Budapest with a royal waiting room and sumptuous restaurant.
Built between 1874 and 1877 by Gustave Eiffel's company and under the direction of Auguste de Serres, the immense glass roof supported by an iron framework is a listed historic monument. At the end of the hall, on the left, the door surmounted by the inscription " Viribus Unitis " (United Forces) - which cannot be visited - led to the royal waiting room reserved for Emperor Franz Joseph and Sissi. The once magnificent restaurant is now a McDonald's, decidedly lavish...

Beyond that, ours was accommodation near this station, which we found very practical because although slightly isolated it offers many opportunities for connections (convenient access to the airport, starting point of the train for the discovery of Visegrad) We visited city centre along the Danube on foot or by tram. The access to the Marguerite island is close
