Incomparable acoustics and breathtaking Art Nouveau interior for this 1907 concert hall dedicated to the master Franz Liszt.

An eclectic masterpiece with a splendid Art Nouveau interior, Flóris Korb and Kálmán Giergl completed the Academy of Music in 1907. The institution had been founded in 1875 by Ferenc Liszt, who had decided to build a new building. The composer never got to know the building before his death. The Zeneakademia has always been a teaching center and trains several hundred musical talents each year. Far from being the preserve of chamber music fanatics, the academy has a faculty of folk music and a jazz department. Renovated in 2013, it is now back in operation. The Zeneakademia also serves as a concert hall with great acoustics. Tourists and music lovers can discover the splendid architecture during guided tours or concerts. The interior is especially impressive The refined entrance hall, entirely decorated with blue-green ceramics, represents the aquatic world. Miksa Róth designed the fountain with golden mosaics, as well as the stained glass windows of the building. Upstairs, just before entering the concert hall, the foyer is decorated with The Fountain of the Arts, a fresco depicting pilgrims coming to drink from the sources of culture. Finally, the auditorium, less ornamented than the rest of the building, refers to the world of Apollo - as evidenced by the golden laurels around the ceiling. It is topped by a monumental organ.

Superbe endroit !
