VAJDAHUNYAD CASTLE
A remarkable castle on the edge of the Bois-de-la-Ville, the work of Ignác Alpár celebrates the diversity of Hungarian architectural styles.
Vajdahunyad Castle, at the edge of the Town Woods, celebrates the diversity of Hungarian architectural styles. Its designer, Ignác Alpár, juxtaposed the replica of the Romanesque chapel in Ják, the Gothic tower of Segesvár Castle in Sighişoara, the Baroque facade of the Esterházy Castle in Fertőd, and, finally, the copy of the Hunyadi Castle in Transylvania. The Museum of Agriculture has taken its place in the castle grounds. A panoramic tower gives a view of the Town Woods, but the view is not the most sensational.
