Second permanent bridge over the Danube, decorated with remarkable sculptures by Adolphe Thabard, built between 1872 and 1876.
The second permanent bridge over the Danube after the Lánchíd, the Margit híd was built between 1872 and 1876 to the plans of Ernest Gouin. The monument shows a Parisian influence, decorated with sculptures by Adolphe Thabard. Its bronze candelabra are an imitation of those in the Place de la Concorde. Here you can discover all the splendour of the city, especially at night, when the citadel, the Parliament, the Castle Hill and the Mátyás Church, the Chain Bridge are illuminated.
