KODÁLY KÖRÖND (KODÁLY TRAFFIC CIRCLE)
One of the most beautiful squares in Budapest, with remarkable neo-Renaissance buildings.
Kodály Square, which cuts through the second part of Andrássy, is one of the most beautiful squares in the capital. The composer lived at 89 Andrássy Street, which has been converted into a museum. The four buildings of the square, in neo-Renaissance style, were built in a curved way to fit the traffic circle. A certain amount of neglect is putting this heritage at risk. The building built by József Kauser in 1884, Andrássy út 83-85, has been renovated. It had been damaged in a fire in 2014.
