POPULAR GARDEN (NEPLIGET)

The largest park on the Pest side, bordering the ^20th and ^9th arrondissements. Laid out in the 1860s, the garden covers 112 hectares, planted with 8,000 trees. Part of the garden is occupied by the Centenary Park, created for the centenary of the unification of Buda and Pest (1873). It houses the planetarium (closed), whose dome is used for laser shows and astronomy lectures. In the evening, it's not particularly recommended to hang around.
