MAIN SQUARE OF ÓBUDA (ÓBUDAI FŐ TER)
A superb square to visit in Budapest, formerly the village's main square, home to the Baroque Zichy Palace and its museums.
The HLM cities have definitely not succeeded in erasing Óbuda's provincial footprint. On the pretty former main square of the village, everyone knows each other and greets each other. Particularly noteworthy is the Baroque Zichy Palace, which today houses various museums, including the Lajos Kassák Museum and the Óbuda History Museum. The Vasarely Museum is located just next to the HÉV stop. In Lajos Street, we find ourselves transported back to the time of the writer Krúdy and his inns.
