FRANCISCAN SQUARE (FERENCIEK TERE)
The square is home to the eclectic Klotild Palace, the remarkable Paris Passage and the University Library in Budapest.
The eclectic Klotild Palace (Szabadsajtó út. 5-6, dating from 1902) on Franciscan Square has been renovated - it is now a hotel and bar. At number 10 of the same square, don't miss the Paris Passage (Párizsi udvar), a little jewel of Moorish and Venetian influence (Henrik Schmal, 1909), transformed into a luxury café-restaurant. Finally, on the other side of the street, the shimmering dome of the university library (Egyetemi Könyvtár) announces the proximity of the student quarter.
