Ciudad Real has become a fairly important railway junction since the city is regularly served by AVEs that connect it to Madrid (1h), Barcelona (just under 4h) Seville (1h30) and since 2019 to Granada (2h40) and Malaga (2h). A place found in this new station opened in 1992, replacing the one that hosted the Madrid-Ciudad Real line since 1879 and whose building can still be seen, near the Park Gasset. The train station is a bit far from the city center (more than 1 km), but there are several buses that take you there.
