The most important square in Ciudad Real, where the city hall, the statue of Alfonso X and the Casa del Arco with its clock-chime are located
It is the most important square of the city, as everywhere in Spain, and therefore the most active. But it is worth noting the town hall built in 1976 in a neo-Gothic style that has divided opinions about it. In front of it, the statue of Alfonso X, the wise, founder of the city, surmounts a fountain with night lights. Finally, to the right of the square, the Casa del Arco, the former city hall, has housed since 2005 a clock-chime that brings out at regular times the automatons of Cervantes, Quijote and Sancho Panza.
