SANTA MARIA CHURCH
Church built on the site of a former Romanesque church, a jewel of the Renaissance erected between 1520 and 1565
Built on the site of an old Romanesque church, it is a Renaissance jewel erected between 1520 and 1565. Its most outstanding feature is its magnificent portico, designed by Esteban Jamete. Designed as a large stone altarpiece, its lines are reminiscent of the interior arch of the Cathedral of Cuenca. In the interior, its Gothic vault, its majestic columns and its three naves, also of Gothic silhouette, are noteworthy. In its surroundings, you can still see the remains of the palaces of the nobles who financed its construction in the 16th century.
