CO-CATHEDRAL CHURCH OF SANTA MARIA MAYOR
Co-cathedral church in Mudejar, Renaissance and Baroque style with a main altarpiece in polychrome wood
A co-cathedral church is a place of worship that shares the function of the bishop's seat with another cathedral. Three different architectural styles give this building its splendor: the Mudejar style (the azulejo doors and the tower), the Renaissance style (the portico) and the Baroque style (the interior vault). Inside, the main altarpiece in polychrome wood, the work of the Franciscan friar Francisco Mir, dates from 1624.
