PARADOR DE SIGÜENZA * * * *
Hotel housed in an imposing 12th century Arab fortress with 81 rooms offering luxury and charm of the old
It is housed in an imposing 12th century Arab fortress that dominates the city. The castle was first a Roman fortress. It was occupied by the Visigoths and then by the Moors who made it their alcazaba. Reconquered in 1124, it became the official residence of Bishop Bernardo and his successors and was later transformed into a parador. The common rooms are grandiose and the 81 rooms offer luxury and charm of the old. The restaurant, which honours local products and offers a quality breakfast, is also beautifully decorated.
