This monastery built on the initiative of Isabel and Ferdinand preserves a magnificent Gothic cloister from 1510
The monastery was built on the initiative of Isabella and Ferdinand, to commemorate their 1476 victory over the Portuguese at the Battle of Toros. It was also intended as a tomb for the two Castilian sovereigns. In the end, they chose Granada. The style is above all Isabeline: a blend of Gothic and Mudejar. Most of the monastery was designed by the architect Juan Guas. It retains a magnificent Gothic cloister dating from 1510.

A los reyes, il faut absolument voir le cloître ... un exemple de cet architecture typique de l'après Reconquista.
