CUTLERY STREET
A street in the upper town of Thiers, distinguished by its many half-timbered houses, some of which feature unusual decor.
In the Middle Ages, this street was one of the main routes from Clermont through the upper town of Thiers. In Thiers, the knife had to have a street dedicated to it: it wasn't until the beginning of the 20th century that it finally took this name! This is where you'll find the Musée de la Coutellerie, whose façade is adorned with a mysterious figure known as the "Wooden Man". His body is covered in hair and he stands with a stick in his hand. Other half-timbered houses with unusual decorative features can also be discovered in this charming street.
