An emblematic site in Thiers, the Vallée des Usines (Factory Valley) bears witness to craft and industrial production from the 14th to the 20th century. From the Place Antonin Chastel, two interpretive trails unveil these historic sites, following in the footsteps of cutlers, paper-makers and tanners. Follow the Durolle River to admire some emblematic factories: the Creux de l'Enfer and May factories are home to a Centre d'Art Contemporain, while an atypical restaurant has set up shop in the Wichard factory. These industrial wastelands are illuminated at night.
