MAY FACTORY
Former cutlery factory in Thiers' Vallée des Usines, next to the "Le Creux de l'Enfer" contemporary art center.
In 1895, the Usine du May opened on the banks of the Durolle as a cutlery factory. At the heart of the Vallée des Usines, it reflects Thiers' industrial golden age. Today, it has been converted into an original cultural space. During the construction of its neighbor, the Creux de l'Enfer, the Usine du May is temporarily hosting the Centre d'Art Contemporain. Work will be completed in 2025, when a footbridge will link the two buildings, which will together house the Centre d'Art Contemporain. A fine example of the revitalization of the Vallée des Usines!
