This castle, composed of two elements, dominates the village from the top of the hill
Dominating the village from the top of the hill, this castle is actually composed of two elements. The old castle, which is an Arab fortress from the 12th and 13th centuries, partially preserved, and the Palace of the Álvarez de Toledo, Counts of Oropesa, built in the 15th century, which today houses a national parador. In the latter, we can see a stone staircase, unique in Spain, a five-storytower with sentry boxes, loopholes and crenellated tower, and the heraldic shield of the Álvarez de Toledo family.
