CASTLE OF SAN JUAN DE AGUILAS
Castle located at the top of a small hill, erected in 1756 to repel Turkish and Berber attacks in Aguilas
Located at the top of a small hill, its silhouette dominates the coast. Built in 1756, during the reign of Fernando VI, its purpose was to repel Turkish and Berber attacks. Very much linked to the history of the city, it has recently been completely renovated and can be easily accessed from Murillo Street, facing Robles Vives Square. Inside, it now houses a small museum and an interpretation center to get an idea of the golden age of the city, in the eighteenth century.
